ON NOT FITTING IN -
A few days ago at work, a fellow intern complimented the shirt I was wearing. I responded with the fact that I had purchased it at Goodwill and had consequently gotten a very good deal. His face immediately sunk into an expression of disapproval, and with the deepest extension of sympathy, he whispered to me (VERBATIM) :
You shouldn’t have told me that. I would never have known. I thought it was from somewhere expensive.
Win some. Lose some.
p.s. I still wear thrifted clothes to work.
